We Can! stands for Ways to Enhance Children's Activity & Nutrition and is a national education program designed for parents and caregivers of children ages 8-13 years old to help them maintain a healthy weight.
National and local organizations and corporations play a critical role in the effort to prevent obesity by supporting programs that teach families healthy life habits. The goal of the We Can! partnership is to build collaborations around preventive strategies and outreach efforts, and to leverage resources and communication channels to effectively and efficiently disseminate the We Can! messages and materials.
The role of We Can! partners varies by organization, and the program is designed to help channel an organization’s strengths, networks, and influence at national and local levels. We Can! recognizes that partners’ involvement will depend on the existing national and/or branded programs they may already have in place, the resources they can contribute, and their own infrastructure and reach.
We Can! is currently working with over 20 Fortune 500 companies to include the We Can! messages and parent programming in corporate wellness programs and community outreach. We Can! has also partnered with more than 950 communities and over 25 National Organizations to promote the program and reach out to families and communities across the country.
We Can! appreciates the commitment of these organizations and corporations who have agreed to serve as national partners. We invite additional Federal agencies, professional societies, community organizations, private industry, health care organizations, and others to join us and strengthen our efforts to help prevent childhood obesity and improve the health of America's youth.
